Definition:
‘An organism that has been affected by it’s environment’
As artists we are influenced by others, and go on to influence others with our art.
ecad is a production project that combines a love of all groove based styles of music. Past releases, collaborations and remixes as Asterion, ad h, and Listen to the Music include Neil Cowley, Ola Szmidt, Loretta Heywood, Exchange Bureau Music, Out of the Loop Recordings, Melt 2000, and Buried Treasure Recordings. DJ plays and charts include Michael Reinboth, Bugz in the Attic, Alex Attias, Ralph Lawson, Nik Weston (Mukatsuku), Jazz FM, and Simon Harrison (Basic Soul).
With music featured on BBC documentary ‘Surfing’s Dirty Secrets’ on BBCiPlayer, a pipeline of releases are already lined up that meet the World of groove and electronic music. Influences include: Herbie Hancock, Weather Report, Seiji, J Dilla, Domu, Bugz in the Attic, Jaco Pastorious, Fearless Flyers, Jazzanova, Louis Cole and Knower, Gilles Peterson, Mary Anne Hobbs, Akufen, Matthew Herbert, House, Drum and Bass, Broken Beat, Nu-jazz, Hip-Hop, Tears for Fears, 5 Star, Ray Parker Jr. and the list goes on.
Recent inspiration comes from a collision of input from media, podcasts and books. Rick Rubin and Theo Katzman among many others talking about the creative journey has reignited a sense that art is to be made to put in the World… and with that, here is ecad..
